Ronnie Slater.
Ronnie Slater was a minor character in Emmerdale in 1995. He was the estranged father of w:c:emmerdale:Britt Woods. He claimed to be dying of cancer. Ronnie was played by actor w:c:emmerdale:Ian Thompson.

In May 1995, Ronnie turned up in the village. Britt was estranged from him as he abused her when she was a young girl, and into her teens. At first, Terry welcomed Ronnie. Ronnie said he was dying of cancer and he only had a few weeks left. He even showed Britt his painkillers. Britt told Terry the reason why she hates her father. She says he used to abuse her when she was aged inbetween 8 and 14. She says she used to slash herself due to it. Terry's attitude towards Slater turns and he forces Ronnie out of the village by chucking his stuff out, and as Ronnie got into his car, Terry gave the car a huge kick. Ronnie quickly drove away.
Ronnie probably died of his cancer a few weeks later, unless he was lying to gain sympathy. Whether Ronnie was lying or not is uncertain.
