Iain MacLeod took over as Emmerdale producer in January 2016. He has overseen the death of w:c:emmerdale:James Barton at the hands of his deranged wife w:c:emmerdale:Emma Barton. Also he has introduced w:c:emmerdale:Rebecca White and bought more comedy to the show.
