Synopsis[]
Knowing that Celia is looking for him and deciding that discretion is the better part of valour, Dryden Hogben asks
Alison Gibbons to give him sanctuary. He contemplates his future in Beckindale. He then reads Alison a poem from a book and Alison walks out crying.
