1975 was Emmerdale Farm's fourth year in production and this year saw the last full year of the original Woolpack pub, as it had to be vacated the following year due to subsidence. This year saw the last of Jim and Freda Gimbel and new characters included Annie's distant cousin Rosemary Kendall came to live at Emmerdale Farm, and Martin Gimbel, son of Jim and Freda. Martin dated Rosemary. A few other minor characters passed through such as Madge Semple and Hilda Semple. Ernie Shuttleworth also appeared for the first time this year. Major supporting characters this year was the Gimbel family, and their minor rivalry with Emmerdale Farm. And watch out for Kathy Staff in an episode.
The show took a 5 month break from mid May to early October. New titles were introduced in October, the longest titles in the shows history, lasting until 1989.
