Carly Hope

Carly Hope was a character

in Emmerdale who was first seen in w:c:emmerdale:Episode 2937 (13th June 2001). She is the daughter of w:c:emmerdale:Bob Hope. From 2001 to 2006 she was played by w:c:emmerdale:Rebecca Ryan and from 2015 to 2017 by w:c:emmerdale:Gemma Atkinson.

Backstory[]

Carly Hope was born in 1989 to Bob Hope and his second wife w:c:emmerdale:Barbara Hope. Carly had 2 older half siblings, and one older full sibling w:c:emmerdale:Josh Hope. After Carly was born, Bob and Barbara split and he married and had a daughter, giving Carly a younger half sister. All in all, Carly was the 4th of Bob's 7 children.

2001-2006[]

Carly lived with older brother Josh Hope.

2015-[]

In 2015, Carly returned to Emmerdale again. She was due to marry. Bob goes with Carly to the ceremony but tries to talk Carly into not going through with the wedding as she has only known her fiancé for four months. Carly and Bob have a row and she eventually throws him out of the car and leaves him by the roadside. Later that day, she arrives at Bob's café having jilted her fiancé and asks to stay with Bob and his partner w:c:emmerdale:Brenda Walker. Carly jokingly called Brenda "Wendy".

In March 2016, Carly told off w:c:emmerdale:April Windsor and later bruises were found on April's arms. w:c:emmerdale:Marlon Dingle, April's father, accused Carly of hurting her own step niece. It was actually w:c:emmerdale:Leo Goskirk, April's half brother who has Downs Syndrome. Carly revealed that she had a son w:c:emmerdale:Billy Hope who died as a baby.
